No. Account numbers vary for the different tax types. Each bill has its own list or bill number. Real estate bills have a list number and will start with the Grand List year, followed by “01” and then the list number (Ex: 2021-01-0005555). Personal property (business) bills have a list number and will start with the Grand List year, followed by “02” and then the list number (Ex: 2021-02-0045555). Prospect utilizes club billing for motor vehicle and supplemental motor vehicle billing. The list number (Ex: 2021-MV-0000555 or 2021-MS-0000555) is not the bill number. Bill numbers are listed individually in the middle portion of the bill. Motor Vehicle bills will start with the Grand List year, followed by “03” and then the bill number (Ex: 2021-03-0055555). Supplemental Motor Vehicle bills will start with the Grand List year, followed by “04” and then the bill number (Ex: 2021-04-0055555).
Yes, one time registration is required for each bill type to access the resident portal. You need to register for each of the bill types and accounts you wish to pay online. If you own two parcels you will need to register both parcels. If you own multiple vehicles, you will need to register each vehicle. Once the initial registration process has been completed for each of your accounts, viewing and paying future invoices will be in place. However, if you register your accounts with the same email and password, you will get a list of accounts to choose from in your customer portal. The Town of Prospect offers residents an easy and secure way to view, print and pay their tax bills online. We support electronic bill presentment (viewing) and payment because it is more convenient for residents and better for the environment.
